💫 This Full Moon on January 13 at 2:26pm PST, brings a surge of emotional clarity, shining a light on what’s been simmering beneath the surface. Cancer’s nurturing energy encourages us to soften, reflect, and connect with our inner world, giving ourselves the care and understanding we often reserve for others.
☀️ As the Sun in Capricorn focuses our attention on responsibilities and the practical steps needed to achieve our goals, the Moon in Cancer pulls us inward, urging us to connect with what truly makes us feel safe, secure, and at home—within ourselves and with others.
With Mars retrograde in Cancer sitting close to the Moon, we may feel the push and pull of tending to our own emotional needs while caring for those we love, especially family or those closest to us. This inner conflict asks: How can I nurture myself without neglecting others?
Adding to the dance, Chiron in Aries squares the Full Moon, stirring up old wounds, possibly from childhood. These memories invite us to reflect: Who am I now, and how can I honor my growth by creating changes that truly support my well-being?
This Full Moon is an opportunity to find harmony between responsibility and care, action and rest, and self and others. It’s a powerful moment to come home to yourself.
Now is the time to honor your emotions—no matter how complex or raw they may be. Let the Full Moon illuminate areas where you need to nurture yourself, set boundaries, and create emotional space for healing.
Cancer reminds us that true self-care begins with emotional acceptance. As we release what no longer serves us, we make room for deeper emotional fulfillment and self-love.

This particular lunation is a doozy for me as the Moon is sitting in the exact location (and degree) as my IC in Cancer (this angle is said to represent a person's family, home, early life, ancestry, and how they first experienced love. The IC is also thought to contain information about how a person perceives their family and childhood, and how their family perceived them) which makes the Sun in the exact location (and degree) as my MC in Capricorn (MC stands for Midheaven, which is a point on a birth chart that represents public image, career and aspirations). Since the signs are identical this gives extra weight, intensity and significance to this cycle. If I look back to the New Moon in Cancer (which started this cycle) on July 5, 2024 I can see themes that are now coming to completion. (P.S. this is exactly why I keep a Moon journal so I can reflect back on what was happening for me). Here’s a snippet from my entry on July 5…
“I’m learning how to stand up for myself and my needs by creating stillness to listen, time to understand….. then communicate myself with love AND boundaries. My inner dialogue is based in love, understanding and gentleness”
When you re-read your own words, it’s mindblowing sometimes! I’ve learned so many lessons about how my inner world (as well as how I’m nurturing it) shows up directly in my outer work, about balancing my emotional nature with my commitment to what I put out in the world. No surprise that I spent the entire weekend, at home, with my family (and a bunch of our kid’s friends), working on LOVING our house through a kitchen facelift. ❤️
How can you nourish your inner self during this cycle? Let’s share in the comments and embrace this healing energy together. ✨
Wish so much love (and virtual hugs),
Stacy
